First and foremost, what is Velada del Año?
La Velada del Año (translates to "The Night of the Year") is a popular boxing event in Spain organized by streamer and PRIME partner Ibai Llanos. It features fights between internet personalities, YouTubers, and streamers.
The event has gained a significant following, breaking Twitch viewership records for boxing events. There have been three editions so far, with the first one held in May 2021. A fourth edition is upcoming on Saturday, July 13, 2024!
So whats with the PRIME bottle... well, a listing by CandyCave appeared on the internet along with what looks like a very convincing PRIME bottle, as seen below:
At first, we were sceptical of this new PRIME which is why we haven't mentioned it until now... but we have done so digging. CandyCave were contacted by Emerald of our Discord channel and they were told that it is coming soon - but as we have had no concrete evidence yet, let's speculate instead:
- The bottle design does looks professionally made. Sometimes with mockups there are telltale signs. That being said "Hydration" at the bottom in white against a bright yellow background looks suspicious. However it wouldn't be the first time PRIME has made some questionable contrasting colour decisions (ahem Grape!).
- The event is nearly upon us so perfect timing.
- Ibai Llanos is a member of Team PRIME and has yet to have his own bottles.
- PRIME is a sponsor of the event itself, as seen at the bottom of the events main webpage here: https://lavelada.es.
As such, we've added it to the speculation part of our website for now until we know more.
